It seems like lately whenever I install a game or software I get a "please insert cd" message whenever I try to play the game. The wierd thing is the game installs fine with the cd and whenever I put the cd in to play the game my computer reconizes the cd just finebut when I click on the .exe file to play the game or use the software it always says "please insert cd". I know I can download a no cd patch for most things but its is still bothering me.

Thanks for any help

My regular cd drom died so I am using my burner to read my cds it's the E drive. Is there anyway to make my burner my D drive like my old cd rom was? I was thinking maybe my computer is looking for the cd in my d drive. (even though i installed the games with my E drive)

I take it these are original CD's and not backups/copies ?

Personally I hate having to put a damn CD in the drive everytime I want to play a certain game , those no cd patches are great for that .

What Operating System are you using ?

If it's Win2k or XP then you can change the drive letter , not really sure about win98/ME

In win98 S.E. you can set the drive letter in the device manager as well.
