They guy seems like he is trying too hard to be funny and comes off sounding like a dork. The British version had more biting humor that was subtle and contrasted well to the situation.

I;m gonna write TLC to bring Robert Llewellyn to the US and host the shows. This guy is just plain irritating.

He's a dweeb! Right up there with the goofus that hosts America's Funniest Animals on AP. Lame. Trashing a perfectly good show with a half-witted American. :disgust:

I sorta feel the same way about Drew Cary hosting "Who's Line is it Anyway?" That, and a lot of the new american contestants (NOT the older ones like Ryan Stiles -- and that Colin guy ) are really stupid.

Ugh.. overall a very disappointing show. The teams had no personality whatsoever. The British teams like the Meglomanics, Brothers-In-Arms, Beach Boys, and the Bodgers were all cheery and humorous. These guys came across as a bunch of bullies in a game of mine is bigger than yours. Then you have doofus acting like a buffoon. Bring back "Scrapheap Challenge" ASAP.

:):(:(:( - One smiley for a rotted out shell of what was once a mighty show.

I hope the second episode is much better.

The second show was a little better but the teams sucked. No personality. Just a bunch of punk kids vs. over the hill grumpy old men.

I totally agree, this new guy sucks. I don't know why I like the old guy better but he really was funnier and more interesting.

I'm probably going to be flamed for this but I really wish this show was less scripted and more real. Did you notice how the two dragster shows were practically identical? In both shows one team went with a large engine and the other went with a small engine. The engines they find always work. Everything is just a little too perfect for me.

Another show that was blatantly scripted was the air bomber episode. The teams had to build an RC aircraft that would drop a bomb on a target. Miraculously both teams "found" RC cars (that worked no less) and the team that planned to build a blimp "found" a huge sheet of mylar. Why can't they just make the shows totally real?

Vailman.. I think its because some of the parts are hard or impossible to find in a junk yard. I do like the episodes they can't use any engines or motors, like the windmill one. It's not all about the parts they get; it?s how well they put it together. Like the last episode with the fire hose. I was amazed how well the Nerd?s fire hose worked.

I realize that and I agree with you. I just wish they would stay away from unrealistic challenges like when they are asked to build something like radio controlled vehicles out of junkyard parts.
