I almost got into a fight last night

Before i start just let me say that my roomates and i are all three extremely non confrontational people.

So my roomates and i were at this girls 21st birthday party and some guy that was there (Tom) must have decided that he wanted to start some trouble. Tom had been saying stupid stuff all night and butting into conversations that he shouldnt have been in at all. After a while my roomate's girlfriend was totally trashed and passing out on the couch and on his way outside Tom decided he was going to make a comment. Something to the effect of "Hey, looks like you'll be getting some tonight."

My roomate being one of the most perfect gentlemen a girl could ever meet obviously took offence to this comment (and justly so). Stood up and told Tom that he wanted him to apologize right now. Tom refused to apologize and immediately signaled his friends to come bail him out of making a stupid comment. Me being the current diffuser of the situtation decided that i was going to take Tom outside to have a chat with him and try to calm him down. Tom only wanted to be sure the situation was "cool" and i assured him that if he apologized and left it at that it would be because we didnt want any trouble at this girls party (good friend).

So Tom goes inside and apologizes to my roomate and is being really cool about it and then says "i just dont understand why you had to call your friends into this." So his three friends rush him outside before he says anything else stupid. They must have had a long talk with him because i didnt see Tom for a while but when he came back in he started calling us immature and just a continuance of his ignorance that had been going all night. I had to remove Tom from the room once and his friends ended up having to remove Tom from the room about 2 or 3 times before we decided to leave due to the now not feeling so well girlfriend.

So by the end of the night my roomate Jim was about to drop the guy, my roomate Frank (the guy with the girlfriend) was just trying to see this end before Jim dropped him, and i was trying to be the bomb technician so nothing exploded but still being in the position of the room to hear everything and try to take at least 2 of the 4 guys down in a tackle so it would be 2 on 2 with me holding 2 guys instead of 4 on 3.

Long night :(

Too much drama.

And azz kicking should have taken place before anyone had to lecture this creep.

I'll bet the tough guys from OT could take on the entire San Bernardino Chapter of the Hells Angels and kick ass without breaking a sweat. ;)

Morons such as your roommates and friends should be banned from drinking.

and by you making a comment like that you feel better about yourself in some way shape or form?

what is your reasoning behind such a comment

You asshats were going to fight over some stupid comment made by a drunk. Laugh it off or ignore him.

actually.. i was going to fight because these guys are my friends and my roomate was going to fight because you just dont say things like this guy did... Tom was in the wrong and everyone at the party knew it. And by everyone i mean even his friends which i'm not sure (by the time we left) would have backed him at all anymore

so minendo:
are you saying that if someone made a comment about your girlfriend that was less than appreciated you wouldnt stand up for her. and if the fight was uneven you wouldnt expect your friends to step in as well (if the cause was just)

If someone had simply stated that I was going to get some because my girlfriend was passed out drunk, I would have countered with some sh!tty remark.

Ohh, ohh, I almost got laid last night.......think I'll go make a thread about it.......

you must have misread the first part or been like me when i read things (sometimes fudge words to be what i want them to be)... this guy had been making comments to a lot of people all night and was definately in the wrong.. under normal circumstances this guy would have just been shrugged off and just like you said, attacked verbally and made him feel 2 inches tall

Dude...so my friend's girlfriend is, like, passed out of couch...no no, my other friend's girlfriend.

And this dude was, like, "dude, she is so waste...I bet he [my friend, not my other friend] will be getting some."

We were, like, "Dude?!"

And he said, "Dude!!?!"

And I said, "Duuudddeee...".

And it was cool.

IT was a stupid comment, but demanding an apology sounds like some sort of Brady Bunch, 1950's response. Just say tell him to piss off, and be done with it. YOUR friend was the one who lingered this on, especially since that dude was on his way outside.

"Sir, I demand an apology"
"What? Shut the fvck up, dork"
"No, sir. You say sorry, or else."

haha
