I was in a small city driving through the downtown area. Speed limit was 20 MPH and there were a lot of pedestrians and "Yield to Pedestrians" signs and crosswalks, etc.

Well, I was doing exactly 20 (because of the cop that was following me) and I saw pedestrians start across a crosswalk. I slowly braked and just then I heard about three rapid brake squeals (which I'm guessing was the ABS?) and when I looked, the cop had to have been no more than a foot from my bumper.

lol...that would have been interesting.

If he would have even *tried* to do some bullsh!t, I would have punched him in the face, taken his mace and used it on him.

Dain 1
Cop 0
Bumper damage - $400
Using the cop's mace on him - $15
Having it all on video because of the camera in the cop's car and being sentenced to a three year prison term for beating up a cop - Priceless

And then you would have been in prison for assulting a police officer. They have cameras in those cars for a reason you know... I am guessing that my sarcasm meter is broken though.

Seriously, how could Dain have been in trouble if the cop hit him? He was obeying the speed limit and slowing/stopping for pedestrians crossing in a crosswalk when he was instructed to yield to pedestrians by road signs. How could it have been Dain's fault (legally and legitamently)?

Yeah, I was joking about that. Seriously though, I have heard nightmare stories about how the cops never get the blame for anything. Honestly, it would have been really, really intersting and you can trust that I would have been taking a shitload of pictures.

I got hit recently (not a cop)... insurance is great when they're 100% liable. The hassle of going through the legwork sucks though.

The Police Dept. would have footed the bill, or actually their insurance would have. No muss, no fuss.

I've been hit by cops a couple of times. Not really hard. Just a smack in the face to shut me up (i was usually drunk).

Closer to your story though, my mom was rear-ended (hahha) by a cop ( and no, not my dad :)) - it was a PITA, but he knew it was his fault and everything got taken care of.

In Addison, a cop going the opposite direction pulled a sudden u-turn in front of me and turned on his siren and lights. I had to brake hard but it's OK because he was probably going to an emergency, right? Turned out he was making a traffic stop on the car in front of me

Rich suburban PDs have nothing better to do.

A cop rear ended my mom doing 45mph while she was stopped at a red light about 10 years ago. Her knee actually got fvcked up pretty bad and she had to have 2 surgeries. Anyway the county settled for $30,000 and the cop was suspended without pay. Probably could have gotten more if we went to court but my mom just took the settlement. Not really sure what the cop was doing but I think he was looking down at his computer when he crashed.

The trunk on my mom's car was completely crushed in but it was still drivable. Unfortunately the insurance company didn't total the car and instead repaired it. But after that it was never the same so we sold it. The cop's car however was totaled after the accident. The airbags had gone off and it wouldn't even start. They had to tow it away.

I don't usually say anything negative on here but your just being rude and idiotic. Next time, if you don't have anything constructive to add, how about you not say anything?
