i accidentally ate a small piece of hard jagged plastic, am i a goner?

so i had a leftover milkshake that i stuck in the freezer last night, and i forgot to take the big plastic straw out when i put it in there.

tonight i went to eat the rest of it, and when i pulled out the straw it cracked. i noticed a piece about half the size of my pinky fingernail was missing from it.

i thought "that's ok, i'll find it when i'm eating the ice cream and throw it away."

well i was really careful but i never found it, so it's probably now a jagged plastic weapon floating in my abdomen.

As with many lethal poisons, it depends a lot on the specific type.

So, you got your HDPE, PP and PS. Then you got PVC and LDPE. You're probably OK with either group. What you want to avoid is any plastic labeled as "OTHER." Seriously, look it up. As far as you know, there could be f'ing plutonium in that shit. OK, not really.

I'm sure that plastics tend to be mostly inert.

Of course, not many people use liquid nitrogen to freeze shit.

I mean, the worst part is you can't even get it x-rayed, unlike if you swallowed, say, a piece of a brace(s) for your teeth. They could at least find it where the metal lodged.

Stories like this usually involve something like a toothpick. How one swallows a toothpick is beyond me, but it happens and THAT can become a problem.

A piece of jagged plastic, unless it's your shredded Visa or something similar, isn't going to cause a problem. OK, let's say instead, ceteris paribus, it's very unlikely. Definitely not worth losing sleep over. And if that looks like it might be an issue, antihistamines are, for most people, pretty effective sleep aids.
