Swype is pretty sweet, but it still takes some care not to type retarded stuff. Definitely my favorite on-screen keyboard tho.

It can also be a challenge to write longer words--I sometimes get "lost" trying to remember where I am in the course of typing the word. Try typing "pomegranate" or "unsatisfactorily." On the plus side, the dictionary DOES have "unsatisfactorily" in it. :awe:

Got it on my Optimus. It's pretty sweet but like someone already mentioned, long words are hard to write with it or words that require you traverse the keyboard back and forth.

It helped me a lot when I'm writing messages. I never had a phone that had a keyboard before so it was tremendously faster then usnig the old 1-9 keys.

Love it! Use swype on my X. It makes sending text messages and emails from my phone so quick. Plus I enjoy using my phone in portrait mode with one hand, and swyping with my thumb is easy.

I think it is awkward, and I'm already sick of selecting suggestions when it doesn't know what I'm swyping. I also have issues with words that have the same letter back to back. I'll stick with the hardware keyboards.

Got my G2 the other day and I'm getting used to it still, it's great when you just need to shoot off a quick text and don't wanna pop open the keyboard

I don't even pay attention to the suggestions TBH. I just go on to the next word and it is usually right. You do know you don't have to select a suggestion right? It will pick the most likely if you just keep going.

However, as much as I loved swype I broke my swype install and havent had a chance to fix. As a temporary messure I have been using Swift Keyboard and I have to say it is REALLY good at predicting and I tend to type faster using it. But most likely I will go back to swype since it was free pre-installed on my phone and swift keyboard is like $4-5.

It'll be only available to people who "jailbreak" their phone. Apple doesn't allow stuff like that officially on their market.

the curious part is that would go against swype's stated business model. They've been asked numerous times why swype isn't available on the market, and their response is always that they would prefer to partner with OEMs to have it pre-installed.

releasing "ad-hoc" on iphone would go against that.

of course, i don't understand why they wouldn't want to sell it themselves. they'd make a killing.
