It's growing on me. I looked at one at the autoshow and it's a funky little bastard. Looks like a fun commuter car. I'm interested to see how that matte paint looks in person and how well it wears.

Dart is 3200lbs so its going to need some major power. I just configured one on dodge's site and it's pretty barren stock. I aded 5500 in options

I really want this car to be cool, but in typical Hyundai fashion, it will make 20% less power than advertised, get 40% worse fuel economy than advertised, and the manual transmission will be from a 1989 Ford Escort. :/

I would say this sums up my thoughts on Hyundai just fine.

Heh. Maybe the design & parts purchasing guys should stop trying to copy Toyota parts castoffs for a bit and focus on a Honda teardown for drivetrain and how to make a decent shifter.

Dealer left me a voicemail stating theyre getting in a 2013 Genesis coupe with the 2.0T and the 8spd auto on friday. Might have to go check it out

The 2013 Genesis 2.0t is a totally different beast from the previous gen one and probably worlds better than the velostar coupe. It'd probably be easier to work out something too since the Velostar turbo will seem to be more popular when it arrives.

I'm just hoping they're not going to put some sort of markup on it. From what i've read it seems like a very nice car overall. 8Spd auto just sounds so weird.

Exactly. A Veloster is like an Accent in a track suit and handles as such.

You haven't been around cars much lately have you? :hmm:

Haven't read the real-world performance stats of cars lately, have you?

Hyundai claims amazing numbers but rarely delivers. Genesis Coupe, Elantra, Sonata Turbo, etc. They claim competitive or even class leading power and mileage, then never fail to have performance and as-tested mileage figures that are significantly poorer than cars with lower claims. Not to mention they still haven't learned how to tune a suspension.

They've come a long way and I hope they continue to get even better, but I buy based on performance, not ads, and they still have a long way to go on that front.
