I usually don't look at Korean cars but the Triburon that I saw on the street tonight was sweet (no pics). Lots of pizzazz.

Does anyone here own one of these? Are they anywhere near the quality of an Accord coupe in power or handling?

TOTAL VEHICLE PRICE* $22,137

Size? No I didn't get out of the car to compare. It was next to me at a light. I have only seen a couple of these, usually at a distance.

he 2003/2004 Tiburon has improved alot from 2002 model in term of handling and performance.

I would have to say it's as good as Accord in handling and engine performance IF NOT BETTER but Reliability definitely not as good as Accord.

Just my $0.02

My GF's son up in Antioch Ca. has one in black. Nice for a Hyundai!
He got it because of price point and the super good warranty.
He let me drive it on back roads. All its pep is at the top of the
power band, a peaky engine. Handles like a go-kart.
Intimate cockpit w/o feeling cramped. Could shift sweeter,
maybe it will break in with use. Its a coupe.................:sun:

If you get one, DON'T BUY NEW!

Those Korean cars usually lose like 40% of their value in the 1st yr alone! You will be much better off buying a used one...

They've gotten better but there are better cars to be had for the same price. And the depreciation is outrageous.

Isn't Kia the one with the 10yr/100k mile powertrain warranty? Or is that Hyundai? Or both? I always found it funny that the cheapest cars (based on new retail prices) had the best warranty package.

If Ford had that kind of warranty, my 92 Mustang would have still been under warranty when I bought it Nov. 2001 :Q.

first of all $22k is overpiced for about 4k or more :) even if its V6.

I like the exterior but V6's performance was weak and interior is too cheap and not enough room.

if you get a good deal go 4 it but u cant really compare it with an accord.

Hyundai owns Kia.
And low-end auto manufacturers have to have long-term warranty packages or else they wouldn't sell any cars. One of the biggest factors in the price that a consumer is willing to pay for a car is the car's expected quality and reliability.

edit: $22k is about what I paid for my new Subaru WRX earlier this year, just food for thought to the OP.
