HYUNDAI L90D+

I own one. I love it. Great response time (I game, play America's Army and IL-2, mostly). Great color, good for videos, great design, in general.


I couldn't be happier with this monitor unless it was 58 inches wide . . . . . . then maybe I'd be happier than I am now.

Its a great great panel, highly recommended.
 
Everyone recommends that monitor, I've never tried it but I hear it's great. I'd get that or a Viewsonic (Dell if I could get one for that kind of price).

I have a 17" Viewsonic, I can;t remember which one exactly, it's not in front of me...

16ms response time 500:1 contrast ratio, all I do is game and watch movies and I have never ever ever EVER seen the slightest hint of ghosting. Plus it has a very sleek design and looks great. I'd recommend a viewsonic LCD to anyone.
 
I love my L90D+. Great color (better than my aging CRT even). 5 stars.

I also looked at the dell 1905FP and a few samsug models. I just missed out on the dell deals and I really didn't have time to wait around another month. All the samsung panels in my price range were either 17" or lacked DVI...
 
Not sure how serious you are about graphic designing, but realize it's only a 6-bit panel. Colors won't be as true as they will be on an 8-bit panel. Just food for thought.
Appears to be a great gaming LCD though.
 
It's a great monitor for gaming. For graphic design though I'd recommend Dell's monitors. They have 8-bit panels for accurate colour reproduction. They are fine for gaming as well
 
Ike0089, the hyundai L90D is 8-bit (16.7million), if thats what you claimed to be 6-bit, otherwise disregard this, and Izusaga that monitor only has analog and is 6-bit (16.2million)
 
I honestly don't see the benefit to DVI regardless for gaming. The L90D is 6-bit regardless of the advertised 16.7million colors. I'm really torn between the L90D and the 915N.

I disagree. I'm pretty certain that the L90D is a 6-bit panel.

The Hyundai L90D+ has 16.7 million colors listed Hyundai's website, but the general consensus here on AT seems to be that it is a 6-bit panel with dithering to approximate the 16.7 million colors. It will be difficult to get a 8ms LCD on 8-bit panel currently. I'm sure it will happen, but I don't believe the L90D has done this.

I bought the Polywell V-293 19"

It has great contrast and brightness and I haven't noticed any problems with
response speed. It's very nice DVI LCD for $270.
Works great for HL2.

Actually I think it's the same as the CMV 19 in LCD newegg also sells now..same specs.
I've had the Polywell 4 months and my friend bought the CMV. They both work very
nice..

Nope, for high profile monitors, DVI has noticeable performance gain than angalogue in IQ department
 
When I bought my L90D+ it was a tossup between it and the 915N.

I went Hyundai for a couple reasons . . . it came out slightly ahead in a THG comparison, I liked the look of it more (although with only 1/2" of bezel on both monitors, not much to look at).

Both of them use the same LCD panel (manufactured by Samsung . . . ). L90D+ also has the rotate feature which I've used a couple times. Some of the samsungs don't have DVI connectors, etc. etc.

Anyway, I decided on the L90D+ and I'd make the same choice again.
 
I'm sorry to bump this thread, but I need to add a couple of comments to this (and all the other threads through out Anandtech on the Hyundai L90D+ becuase after doing a great deal of research I finally bought one and it's fantastic. I need to clarify a couple of things though that may detract from the purchase of one.
After doing a great deal of research I found that the return policy on these monitors is 5 dead pixels and only then will they take it back. It's quite common for 1 or 2 dead pixels to be shipped and when you recieve it you have no recourse unless the dealer themselves will go over and above the manufacturers warranty. I live in Canada and I only found 2 companies that retailed the monitor and neither company would take a return no questions asked (Tigerdirect.ca and NCIX.com). Looking into the entire practice of purchasing the L90D whatever country you live in I have found that you should NOT purchase one on line. Go to a bricks and mortar store, pick one out, and then make sure you test it in the store before you pay for it. I bought from Tigerdirect who it turns out have a store in Markham Ontario. I talked at length with a technician who tests/fixes whatever is required. He said that he quite often has people come in and go through 5 or 6 of the L90D+ before he finds one that has no dead pixels. He said I lucked out because we got a good one first try. He didn't seem like a disgruntled employee so I'm going to take him at his word. He went on to say that if you get a monitor that works then it shouldn't really have any problems after that. As far as I can see this is a great choice and the best bang for the buck around. Pick one of these up for sure, but as I said, test it first.
