Hyundai L90D+ has a Samsung Panel?

I'm currently using a Samsung 730B, I have less then one week to take it back and I'm highly considering it if I can't get it to display any better. I was thinking the 19" 930B, but I don't know if this will solve my issues with the native resolution. With that being said anything below the native res on my 730B looks terrible.

It seems the Hyundai L90D+ is getting alot of good reviews in favor of the 930B, but if it uses the same panel why is this? Would Samsung lose out to a competitor in performance who uses it's own panel?

I was wondering the same myself. On the other hand though, it does wonders for their LCD panel market.

Picking out a LCD monitor (my first) has not been a fun trip, so many to choose from, reviews and reports vary some say good some say bad. I went with the 730B, it's good for the most part but not as good as my old 17" CRT Trinitron. Not to mention I was a little pissed that Samsung didn't supply a DVI Cable which forced me to spend $50 at Best Buy cause I could wait to order one for less online. Did find out that the LG and Hyundai come with DVI cables albeit the LG's are more expensive.

If I can buy the Hyundai for less then the Samsung 930B and get better performance then maybe that's the way to go. Problem is, I don't think any of the local stores have them?

I've yet to find a local store that carries the L90D, I can only find them on-line.
Just the opposite with the 930B. All the big name stores carry it, but the big on-line vendors don't.

I'm alos curious if they do actually use the same panel. The L90D gets great reviews, while the 930B gets mediocre reviews. I'm very confused on this one because I'd much, mcuh rather buy an LCD from a B&M store where I could easily return it if there is a problem.

What I'm finding out is like with anything else, you can over analyze the heck trying to determine what is the best. At least in my case this is such.

One monitor you don't hear much about is the 4ms Samsung 930BF, one place I know that has it is Alienware and it's pricey.

All I'm finding out is with a lower response time you sacrifice something else in trade. I've read that the Hyundai is too bright and too dark so nothing is really clear in the end. That's why I prefer to see/buy a monitor at one of local outfits so I can to a degree see how it looks, problem is they usually don't have them set-up so great and never use the DVI.

As far as I know, I think Samsung makes all the 8ms panels, that doesn't mean that Samsung's are the best. At the time, the L90D+ was the best monitor using Hyundai's panel, it may or may not still be.(and yes it comes with a dvi cable)

BTW, L90D+ and L90D are completely different monitors. L90D sucks, very old.

Oh, and mode101, that 4ms Samsung I believe actually has an 8ms panel, Samsung just decided the panel now tests well enough that they can stretch it to 4ms.

Anyhow, I have an L90D+, on DVI default brightness was too bright, and if I turned it down color accuracy would start to fade(same for any LCD), I eventually got used to the brightness though and it no longer bothered me.(it only bothered me for white backgrounds anyhow) The analog input for some reason is dimmer, I haven't checked it for color accuracy, but I no longer am bothered by the brightness of the screen so I don't know how much I was turning it down...when I first had my monitor I was cutting the brightness down to like half because white backgrounds bugged me. Oh, L90D+ also has speakers, which is neat, they're better than typical laptop speakers, not great by any means though.

Sounds like you can't beat it for the price, included DVI cable to boot. How is it for everything else besides gaming?

I've watched movies on it and had no problems, and desktop use is fine, but I haven't done extensive tests nor do I do anything needing excellent color range/accuracy, so if you plan to photo edit on this, I'm not sure how well it'd do. I see no problems, but LCDs usually aren't so good for that type of thing.
