Hey everyone!
I just love my wife...she knows I've been wanting a new LCD monitor to replace my CRT. I've been holding off buying one because I didn't want to deal with dead pixels. I decided that when I did buy one I was just going to get one in town at Circuit City so if I did have a problem I could just take it back and swap it. Well, she emails me this morning and told me she went ahead and ordered me the L90 from ZZF. Sweeeet!! Hoping it gets here Wednesday like my orders from them sometimes do!!! Anyways...
Of course I have a concern, like I said, and that's regarding dead pixels. I've seen several different mentions about the minimum number of dead pixels required for Hyundai to replace it. Some have said 3, others have said 5, and the Hyundai Imagequest website says 10 for 17" and 19" LCDs. Anyone know the real number? I'd tend to believe the manufacturer's website, but we all know how those tend to get outdated and do not reflect the current policy.
Also, has anyone ever had to deal with ZZF on an LCD with a dead pixel(s)? I've looked and looked on their website, and the RMA link on their order conf. email and I can't find any specific policy. I can't find anything on dead pixels at ZZF. The special exception on their monitors only states that an arrangement for a defective monitor must be made within 15 days of the product ship date, and that defective monitors would be replaced within that time frame. Again, no dead pixel policy. Well then, what's considered defective?? Does the lack of a detailed defective policy (unless I'm missing it) mean if I have a bright green pixel stuck dead center when I get it I can consider it defective and return for a replacement?
Maybe I'm jumping the gun, and maybe I'll get a panel with no defects, but I know how my luck with this stuff goes. I wanted to see if you guys have had any dealings with either Hyundai or ZZF regarding dead pixels. Just wanting to know my options before I get a monitor one dead pixel shy of some return policy I can't find!
