I have never seen the front of an Elantra that doesn't look like a buck-tooth the front license plate sticking out at an angle. There must be a way around mounting so it doesn't look so ugly! Thinking about getting one and looking for suggestions, help ! 😉

Photo(s)?? Because, after going through a couple thousand on Google's images of Elantras, I have discovered that they don't have ANY with a front license plate showing!

Now at closer look, when they push thru the holes for screws (all states don't need a front plate) they are just above a slight extrusion in the bumper itself, so causing the bottom to pull upwards when its tightened. I think the way around it is to put two thick washers (and longer license plate screws) - that will give me the extra half inch to offset the angle - flatten the appearance... Make sense? I hope so.... :sneaky:

Get a license plate frame for the specific vehicle? They often have one set of mounts at a different length to deal with the curvature of the bumper. Then the plate mounts nice and flat on the frame.
