Worse case, Apple tries to buy out AMDs IP portfolio, but faces stiff competition from well connected Chinese companies and a company in Bermuda with ties to Russian Oligarchs.
AMD sells ATI to Apple (bringing inhouse the graphics IP for the iProducts while ignoring everything else ATI does) and spins off SeaMicro to pay the bondholders back, who threaten AMD with bankruptcy and the loss of the x86 license. They lay virtually everyone off and keep the company alive as a holding company raking in the console cash until that is no more.
