Hypothetical situation

You walk into a convenience store to buy a snack. You grab your snack and walk to the register. The clerk says to you, "Would you like a lottery ticket? It's $24 million tonight!" You're feeling lucky, so you take her up on the offer and buy one quick-pick ticket for $2. As you leave, you turn back and say, "if I win, you get half - since it was your idea!" She laughs and tells you to have a nice day.

The next day you wake up and check the numbers and amazingly, your ticket is the sole winner.

Do you stay true to your word and try to find a way to give the clerk half of the winnings? After all, you wouldn't have even considered buying a ticket if it weren't for her...

as an honest person i can say that it is easy enough to convince myself that the "if I win, you get half - since it was your idea!" comment was just a joke.

Yes. I don't need all that money, and I would feel bad if I didn't split the money.

Yeah right. I "might" give her a nice gift or sum of money but no where near half.

Give a large gift, and have her sign a statement that she won't sue.

I would give her something, but not half.
At "most" I would give like $1,000,000.

And is the cashier hot?
hotness is inconsequential. let's say she's so damn average that you can't even decide which end of the scale she's on. she is, however, the reason you are now a rich man...

I would absolutely keep my word. Money isn't everything. Doing the right thing and ones honor are far more important to me.

 And then I wouldn't just give it to her... I'd make her earn it.

Unless she PAID for half that ticket, I'm keeping every nickle.
Maybe I'll hire her to drive my limo.
If she's hawt, that is.
Otherwise, she get's a nice greeting card.

for the record, as i walked away, i promised myself that if i won, i'd try to find a way to give her half, if it was legal and everything.

i definitely wouldn't have bought the ticket if it weren't for her - i don't even play the lottery much.

so there you go, that's why i asked. :)

and no, i didn't win.
