so lets say you are a man in your 20's working at a grocery store as a cashier, and accidently sold alcohol to a minor, and got caught. what are the consequences?

when I say accident, I really mean it. It wasn't on purpose, but the reason could be you checked I.D, but maybe didn't come up with the correct age....so you sold it anyways........

just curious, no reason.....

when I say got caught, I don't mean got caught by the boss.....I meant got caught by the officer waiting in line....does that make a difference??

I meant getting caught by the police. The company would receive a fine. They would probably take it out on you by firing you.

probably depends on the civil code for your area. Criminally, you MIGHT receive a ticket, but I doubt that would happen unless the cops thought you knew what you were doing or didn't tgive a crud. Civil case might be a different story, but who is going to spend a bunch of money to sue a clerk?

i dunno about you guys, but at the ralphs down the street, they check id, and have to punch in the birthdate when selling alcohol... so it kind of takes the mistake excuse away...
