Hypothetical Question: Who do you vote for?

If tomorrow Obama and McCain were no longer in the race who would you vote for?

Let's assume both of them didn't exist. Nothing horrible happens, no terrorism or murder, they just simply didn't exist.

Which candidate do you like?

Personally, I'd probably go for Clinton.

*EDIT*
Since people seem confused about the poll, I am not specifying any candidate with the term democrat or republican. Pick a choice in the poll, then explain which specific candidate you would choose in your post. Sorry for the confusion.

A democrat. As much as the party needs major work, it's not been the nightmare of non-contrite sh*t that the Republicans have been the last 8 years. We really, truly don't need more of that. On the plus, they've been so bad that even some of the Republicans I know realize Bush sucks, like they could hide it for four years, but the second term was too much. McCain is more a Republican than he's not.

Neither. I didn't plan to vote anyhow.

Republican Democrat. Same thing. 2 sides of the same coin.

Since I wouldn't vote for either of those two candidates anyway, it wouldn't change anything. I'd vote for the Libertarian, the Green party candidate, or some other individual who I felt better represented my political beliefs.

I only vote Dem or Rep rarely, usually in opposition to some great evil on the other side (like the Bush elections).

It would depend on who their replacements were.

I could easily go R if the sub were someone like Hagel, Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe. I would go D if it were someone like Biden, Feingold or Bayh. I could go I/3rd if the candidate weren't a whacko like Barr or Perot.

IOW, the poll is useless without names to anyone other than a complete partisan hack.

When you say 'a democrat' and 'a republican', who do you mean? I'd assume you mean Hillary for 'a democrat', but what about republican? Huckabee? Romney? (heh) Paul?

generic R versus D, I go D... but it would really depend on personal specifics, like if it was a republican that I liked a lot or a democrat that I hated.

I wanted Huckabee or Joe Biden. Sadly neither made it very far.

A democrat, I do not think the US and the world can afford four to eight more years of having Republicans in the White House.
