It appears the majority of experts agree its a Russian Government hack.
Without parsing over the details, I do find it alarming that the hack is clearly designed to hurt the Democratic party. The hackers didn't appear to put much effort into hacking the Republicans.
Who else is concerned about a foreign Government trying to influence this election?
Lets pretend there is more embarrassing data from the hack and every few weeks more increasingly embarrassing data is released at what point should we stop reporting it or should it be talked about which is obviously what Putin wants to happen?
Thoughts and please keep the Hillary & Trump partisan crap to a minimum.

Depends on the content of the emails, especially if any of the emails confirm any illegal/criminal activity....

If what they release is the truth, then it doesn't matter who did it because both parties will be releasing their bombshells in October. Last man standing with the least exposed skeletons in their closet will be the president.

If anything, it shows a clear lack of cyber security awareness. If it continues to happen, then campaigns will have to rethink how they operate (encrypt everything, only stick to paper for certain things, etc). They are just stupidly naive about cybersecurity right now.

It seems like such a non-story to me. Have any truly scandalous emails been released yet?

If you think that one about Sanders's atheism was scandalous... lol.

Yeah, a chair of a major party being forced to resign is such a non-story. Major media outlets who claimed to be impartial like politico having to apologize is a non-story. All these non-stories! Spin spin spin till your brain is dizzy. Wait til the next batch is released, this was just the beginning according to wikileaks.

to most normal people, those emails show how effed up the process is, especially against Bernie...but to the resident apologists here, nothing wrong happened (but if the shoe was on the other foot, they would be coming off the rails)....

The next set of emails might be the one dealing with the Clinton foundation so I guess we just need to wait and see what they contain so the leftists here can sweep those under the rug as well.

There's a story there. It doesn't mean Bernie was cheated, however. That idea is central to the current round of right wing concern trolling.

Anybody who believes that a hack of RNC email wouldn't reveal much the same or worse has shit for brains.

Tempest in a teapot. Who gives a shit who the DNC chair is?

I wasn't aware of the Politico thing. It took me a while to find it. LMAO. All these non-stories indeed.

You're going on about a suggestion from one guy (singular, uno) that was rejected. It never happened. Don't pretend that it did or that one guy's opinion not intended for publication represents the DNC. It doesn't.

These e-mail leaks were from hacking attempts on Senator Clinton's private server?

If so it shows the lack of wisdom of circumventing best security practices developed by security experts for whatever reason.

As for the recent posts derailing the subject I have said my piece about that in other threads.

Yes, today we found out Reuters/Politico/CNN/CBS are all in bed with the DNC. Total non-story, guys.

The DNC was supposed to be impartial and were exposed. End of story.

As far as how foreign governments conspiracy theories, whoever can dig up the most skeletons wins. And that includes skeletons dug up by other countries. Here's a thought: Don't want to be exposed by the US (or other countries)? Then don't commit egregious and/or illegal and/or unethical acts.

The hack didn't do anything to hurt the democratic party, the democratic party is hurting the democratic party.

That's a strong possibility. Unfortunately, that didn't happen which is why we're talking about the Democrat's dirty laundry instead of the Republican's.

On the bright side, when it does happen we won't have to talk about it because we already have!

I stand corrected.

It shows that in this day and age it is in this country's interests to protect potentially sensitive servers during campaigns. Perhaps (while I want to be able to see what turns up in the wikileaks) government expertise should be used to protect the servers of political parties from hacks from whatever outside entity....

From foreign governments to opposing parties to hacktivists.
