Hypoallergenic Cats

I'm allergic to cats. My girlfriend saw hypoallergenic cats in a magazine. Sure enough...

At $4000 a piece, I'm not going to get one any time soon, but that'd be cool as hell, wouldn't it? I'd love cats if I weren't allergic to them.

Try getting a prescription for flonase and taking a generic Claritin knockoff (and maybe a HEPA filter for the house and a HEPA vacuum cleaner, possibly an air purifier if necessary) - I'm allergic, and I have almost zero problems now thanks to the flonase/claritin/house filter combo.

You get used to your own. i'm allergic to cats and have two.

i have a mainecoon that has long hair and i never had a problem with her. But once I got a shorthair cat, my allergies went hairwire, as soon as we put the cat in my car, my eyes started watering and I was sneezing nonstop. I took some allergy medicine but over a few months i no longer had allergy problems with the shorthair cat and i also stopped taking the medicine.
