Is the HyperX series sorta like the Corsairs XMS series as the companies performance products, or like Corsair's TwinX as the companies dual channel product with 2 memory modules? I'm am looking at some memory to purchase, and I really can't debate what I want to buy. Newegg has a pretty good deal on some HyperX, and considering it.

Anyone have any experience with these, more specificly the 512mb PC2700? Or any other suggestions on what memory I should get? Looking for 1GB of memory that would be able to hit 200mhz FSB or so.

Thanks
Jonathan

HyperX is sold as single modules, don't think I've seen matched pairs. Corsair's TwinX is just two modules of their XMS that have been tested together. HyperX is currently considered quite a good deal for good memory.

I haven't heard much about their pc2700 sticks, but I know their pc3000 sticks are very good. The two sticks I had did 215 fine at 2-2-2-6. The sticks are relatively cheap as well. I think a stick is around $90-100

Yeah, the 512MB PC2700 sticks are $73 shipped... great deal. If only I knew they would run 200FSB or so, I'd definatly consider picking it up. Just curious about how they perform..

Thanks for the replies guys.

The PC2700 sticks may hit 200MHz FSB, but you may have to sacrifice timings; at which point running 200MHz might not be desirable. If its not too much more you may consider getting the PC3000 sticks as it seems people have had much better success in achieving DDR400 with low timings (CL 2, other timings vary) with those sticks. Still not a guarantee, but I'd say they're one of the best value/price performers out there (along with the TwinMos Winbond 5ns sticks).
