I hear that there are lots of issues trying to run dual channel ddr with two sticks of any hyperx ram...

i know that gplracer contacted them and that's what he was told...

but they said there should be no issue running only single channel...

anyone with any hyperX with a rev 2 or a1/c1 revision of the nb/sb post your results?

please state what speed hyperx (2700, 3000, 3500) and what board...

ifor example:

abit nf7-s with hyperx 2700

or 8rda+ with a1/c1 with hyperx 3500

thanks!

please post your ram timing and the highest speed you have been able to run stable... oh and please state if yu're using dcddr or scddr

abit nf7-s v1.2, 512mb hyperx pc3000 single channel

currently running ram at 200 sync w/ FSB at 2-3-3-6 timings. I haven't tried higher than 200 ram speed yet...

I haven't heard of these issues... Maybe because I have an A3/A3 board?

Anyways, just in case it is helpful:

Epox 8RDA+ rev. 1.1 with A3/A3
2 x 512MB Kingston HyperX PC2700 in dual channel mode
Set to DDR333 @100% with 2-2-2-5 timings.

Perfect. Though this is not a massive overclock by any means.

issues of not being able to hit their specified speeds..

what version a7n8x do you have? the rev 2.0 or the rev. 1.0X

it makes a difference

I think my 8RDA+ is an A1 (not 100% sure but will check when I get home) and I have 2x512 PC3500 HyperX and I was only able to do 190FSB in dual, I am doing 215 in single channel right now. So My board has that bug too.

wow 215 huh?

how much voltage you using ?

i tried running 12 x 200 = 2400 @ 1.875 vcore ... and 2.7vdimm and prime errored on me

i know this setup can run 11.5 x 210 stable @ 1.875 so i don't see why it can't at 12 x 200 with this new hyperx i got...

i am only running single channel as well :(

man.. i should have realized what i was doing before i bought this memory :(

hmm...

I have 2x256mb PC3500 HyperX on my 8RDA with NB vers. A2/ SB vers. ?, running Dual Channel and 200MHz no prob. Though to get 2.0-2-2-5 I have to run my dimm volt @2.77, which is disconcerning.

If you are running single channel, try a different ram slot then Dimm 0 (slot 1, whatever they label it).

A2 is the old revision... you are okay....

i had pc3000 with my A3 NB 8rda+ and it worked fine...

it's only with the new revisions there are issues

1.750 vcore and 2.7v dimm.

I also wished I would have known. I was on the fence regarding HyperX and Twinmos. Looks like I fell on the wrong side. I am not unhappy with 215, but I would rather run close to that in dual!

Okay... did a little more research

turns out there are no issues with the PC3200 OR PC2700 OR PC3000 HYPERX with 2.0 boards or C1 stepping boards

the issue is only with nf0rce2 boards that are rev 2.0+ and the hyperx pc3500

wow... this blows....

guess it's time to go visit the fs/ft forum and trade this stick a ram for some OCZ

Well that does blow! I am going to also check the revision of my board too. But I think I am out of luck since I already tried and it would not work past 190 FSB in dual! DARN IT! I am just going to sit with what I have, but if I can find a good deal on 2x512 sticks that will let me run the exact same specs I am running, but let me do it in dual, I will probably do that. 215x10.5 2-2-2-7

it's running 2-3-3-6 @ 210 mhz

:)

i ran it at 2-3-3-7 @ 218 mhz before but one day it just rebooted on me... so i realized it wasn't stable...

but 210 is fine for now...

i'd like to hit 225-230 :)

Actually someone else contacted kingston. I was just the bringer of the bad news. My hyperx 3500 is running fine at 215x11 in my A1/C1 8RDA+. I have one 512mb module. I am just worried that I will not be able to order another and get the same speed.
