Hyperthreading capable processor?

I have an Abit IS7-E (865PE chipset that claims to be hyperthreading capable) but cannot locate an entry that allows enabling hyperthreading in BIOS 14 . My chip is a 2.66 533 c1 stepping SL6S3 (Intel's CPUID says CPU type=0; Family=F, Model=2, Stepping=7; and Revision=33).

So, is my chip hyperthreading capable? I cannot locate an Intel link that tells me what P4s are HT enabled.

Even if my chip is not HT capable, should my BIOS not show the way to enable HT on my board?

Thank you.

It's not HT capable. Only 800MHz FSB C chips and the 3.06GHz are HT capable, as well as the new Prescotts.

Thank you MonkeyDriveExpress. I thought that might be the case. Off I go to the "For Sale" section to try to locate a replacement HT enabled chip.

I have the IC7 mobo which should be running the same bios....It is in the second or third submenu of the bios at the very top...

I never had to mess with it as it was on but my b chips was not capable so it didn't effect anything. When I got the p4c chip I plunked it in and it ran fine without me changing a bios setting....

I just downloaded the latest version of the IS7-E Manual and as you said, the Manual indicates that the selection is at the very top of "Advanced BIOS Features". But I went to my BIOS (#14) to that section, and no such selection is there. I figured that my BIOS is too old, so I upgraded to the latest BIOS (#18), but the Hyper-Threading selection is still not listed. Any ideas? (My processor is NOT HT capable; but, surely the BIOS would not alter its screen selections based on what my processor was??
