HyperMmemory TurboCache - useless?

all of us will agree that low end /midrange cards with 128-bit memory bus cannot fully utilize the 512MB/1GB video memory. so what will you gain from turbocache/hypermemory up to 1GB? it's useless, isn't it? 256MB is enough.

is there any utility so i can disable the hypermemory to see what is the real benefit of this especially for gaming.
 
Talk about a big waste of 1 gig of memory.

Hypermemory does nothing. I suspect just a name to the average joe to make them think the card is better in some fashion.

Pointless.
