Here's a blow off steam thread...
I was registered for Hypermart's free web hosting service under the username of stealth. It was a great deal, space to store files, email address and all that jazz. Problem was, my Front Page server extensions got screwed up cause I was using FTP for a while. Anyway, I figured I would just delete my account and re-register again so I could start with a clean slate.
Well all went well until 24 hours later I decided to re-register. Hypermart said my username was in use! So me thinks to myself, did someone else register it? Nope, stealth.hypermart.net was vacant. Did it not get deleted yet? Yes it was deleted, when I tried to log in Hypermart said the username stealth did not exist. But when I try to register using that username it says it already exists and prompts me to choose another!
Now this isn't much of a problem except I use my included Hypermart Email address a lot and if I got a new one I would have to track down every single person and give it to them. People I do business with are going to start calling up and demanding to know why I haven't answered their questions.... What a nightmare!
Irony is I thought about upgrading my free Hypermart service to a paid plan but I can't now since my username is "taken". And worse off, tech support says they only provide support to "paying" members! What a joke.
