I know the higher quality more expensive rams have better CAS latencies and come with heat spreaders and all that jaz but I'm wondering if there is a significant difference in performance. I'm currently doing a decent OC with cheap RAM and the RAM isn't the limiting factor. How high do you have to OC for RAM to start becoming instable? what is the benifit of spending the 50-75$ extra for the high-quality ram?

Well, the disparity between price and performance are what turns people away from enthusiast RAM.

I mean, enthusiast RAM is just that, enthusiast.

It's really for bragging rights, most of the time. Though some people will pay a 60-100% premium for 10-10% more performance, some won't.

If your overclocking, I would get some TCCD, dividers suck, yuck.

EDIT: Dont get Ballistix of HyperX BTW.

PDP Patriot XBL, GSKILL LE, and some PQI offer TCCD chips.
