Hyper X 4000 just toasted my MSI K7N2 Board

Well yesterday I seen Best Buy was havinga sale on HyperX 512mb PC 4000..($119.00), so I picked up a stick. Went home and tried the ram at 400 mhz, it ran fine...the I set the ram timing at for it to run at 500 at 2.7 volts...and that was all she wrote, lol. the computer would not post no matter what.

I pull my 6800, 2600-M and the ram out and tried it in my old ECS board...worked great!!!

Time to go with Asus board ! 🙂
 
Did you trying clearing the CMOS on the MSI?

BTW, I'm hearing that pc4000 has compatiblity issues with many nForce (socket A) mobo's.

Yeah I tried clearing the cmos jumper a bunch of times and leaving the battery out all night...still nothing🙁

This was the first time I ever ran any ram in it faster then pc3200
