Hyper 212+ fit Skylake boards?

Usually, if the cooler continues to be manufactured or has wide usage, the manufacturer will provide a small "parts-kit" -- sometimes free to users -- for new CPUs and sockets.

There's just no guarantee such would come to pass. But it did for the 212 EVO: they produced a socket 2011 adapter for it.

I can imagine other scenarios: either the holes of an earlier socket will match the newer one, or some minor, precision modification of a backplate or other part would make it fit. Of course, it could also come to pass that one finds himself "S-O-L.":|
 
I thought the mounting holes on the 1151 mb were the same as the current 1150 mb so you should be able to use the same hsf?

Searching around some more I saw some said that might be the the case, or it might not. Seems like we can't know yet?

So I can gamble and get the 212 now for $10, and hope you're right..

I may have heard or read that somewhere, too. I guess the OP needs to confirm it.

To me, there's no real limitation; it only depends on how much you're willing to trouble yourself, whether you have a decent drill with bits or even a file -- and feel comfortable using them. OF course, there's always the possibility that mods to a baseplate or some related item can't solve the problem.
 
Rather than speculating why don't you just write cooler master tech support and ask them directly? That way you can get an answer right from the horses mouth and then you can come back and let us all know what they said.
 
I have written (e-mailed) Cooler Master in the past and they have always gotten back to me. I also seen no reason to pay for something you may not be able to use, even if you can save 10 bucks. In the end, you still have spent money for something you may not be able to use.

Best bet like someone said is to email Coolermaster. How long do you have until the time is up for the deal?
 
I emailed Noctua, Coolermaster and Thermalright. I got a respone from Noctua this morning. They said

thank you very much for contacting Noctua!

Yes, the mounting holes are the same, all LGA 1150 coolers will work with LGA 1151.
