Hyper 212 EVO Vibration?

I recently (1 week ago) installed a CM Hyper 212 EVO in my PC. Resting my hand on the top of my HAF 912 case, I can feel a slight vibration where the cooler is, and I can also feel it when I have the case open. I know I fastened it well - is this normal, or am I missing something here? I'm using the included fan, so the rubber shoes are there.

Its normal to expect some vibrations when you have fans running in an case. Thicker metal casings will vibrate less but its perfectly normal for a case like CM HAF 912 to have slight vibrations.

My CM Hyper 212 EVO generates zero vibrations, and I have the stock fan on their plus an additional 120mm on the other side pulling air.

Have your tried to touch the heatsink to see if it's vibrating? Does the vibration change with the RPM of the CPU fan?

No way should that unit be causing a vibration and if it is that could potentially be bad for the CPU.

I'll put it this way - if mine is vibrating, I haven't noticed. And if it is, I couldn't tell you for sure it was the EVO (the fan on top is much larger, the fans on the video card spin much faster).

I don't think it's potentially bad for the CPU as Jabrono said, but try touching the heatsink to verify the vibration is from there. If it's not something irritating, I'd leave it as it is.

remove it and screw it again. if vibrations are still there, then problem is in fans. Try it with stock fan only. My 212 don't have any type of vibrations.
