Hydravision question...monitor 1 vs monitor 2 (Fight?)

So when using the dualhead feature on ATI cards...does it matter which is monitor1 and which is monitor2? Newegg has an OEM Radeon VE without the VGA-DVI adapter, so does it matter if I only have one monitor that is VGA? Or won't it work until i get an adapter and use the other connector?
