HydraVision, nView and multiple monitors

Hey everyone!

Is anyone running multiple monitors and HydraVision or nView? I am wondering about the capabilities in respect to playing games....

I will be running a 17" LCD and a 20" LCD and both monitors can support a DVI or analog connection. The OS will be XP Pro.

I'd like to connect the 20" via DVI and the 17" via analog and then be able to run my games in the 20" monitor and keep a desktop running on the 17" with access to my chat clients and email. This way I wouldn't have to ALT-TAB about of games to check messages or web sites, etc.

Can you do this with HydraVision or nView? Also, it is my understanding that a DVI connection allows for a better picture on LCD's. Is this correct?

My choice in cards is down to either a 9700 Pro or a Ti4600. It all depends on the abilities of running multiple monitors and the advantage (if any) of the DVI connection.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!!!

directx takes the mouse away from you in most games...

example - unreal tournament, you aim with the mouse... so how are you supposed to get the mouse pointer over to your non game monitor to click on the window?

Also, not every program will drag over into your 2nd monitor window (ICQ springs to mind)

BTW - I have an ATI radeon 9000 pro with hydravision, and a 21 and 19 inch CRT monitor

Hmm...I just figured you could program a "hot key" to automatically take you to the other screen. No?

I use Trillian for my chat client, so I hope that wouldn't be a problem...

Does the other monitor go dormant when you enter a game then?
