The question is, what do you do once that 100 fluid ounces is in your OTHER bladder?

:Q

You piss it out. You've never done that before?

Not while I'm exercising... which is what I don't understand.

I usually sweat it out, that's why i would be drinking it in the first place.

I've have a 70oz CamelBak for the last 4-5 or so years. Very handy for bike long bike rides and backpacking.

BTW, EMS rules. Something like 90% of my backpacking stuff is from that store.

Current pack is a Camelbak Blowfish (~2001) 100oz. It is beaten and just too small for holding armor. Looking to get one of the new mountain bike packs from DaKine. That EMS pack looks really nice though, could you post initial impressions when it arrives? Thanks.

I got it at the local EMS branch here. I am going to use it on my Sunday outing. I will update with my impressions Sunday evening.

Wow, that looks like a pretty good pack. I hope I have a little extra money when I'm picking up a kayak at EMS in a month or so.

Okay, I used it today. I fillled up the 3 L bladder and I am thoroughly impressed with the bite on valve and the easy to snap on and snap off insertion for tubing into bladder. The bladder filling opening is just like the omega bladder of the camelback with contoured handle bar to grab onto when filling bladder with h2o. The 550 cubic inches of cargo space is what is impressive for the price and value of the EMS aqua day pack. I was able to put in a 450 page hardcover book with a full size towel rolled up in the main compartment. The outside compartment I used to place my wallet, keys (cliped on key hook inside), and cell phone. Coins goes into the small zip up pouch along the inside of the main compartment. There is an extra space between the outside and main compartment for placing other stuff, like a separate water bottle or the likes, along with tightening bungie cords. The waist and chest snap-in/ suspension belts really do help take the load of your sholders and onto your waist instead. I was able to have all 3 L of water during my 20 plus miles of treking around off road, on road, through town, through campus, and sidewalks the entire afternoon. I spilled some water when the bite on valve came loose by accident on my part. It leaked on my thigh and I was able to catch the tubing and snap on the bite on valve after catching anymore spilled water with my mouth. At the end of the day, I still had the end of the water supply to spare.

I give the '04 EMS aqua day 2 thumbs up! 🙂
