My friend was infected with the Hybris worm and now she cannot access Windows 98. She receives the boot error message:
invalid system disk
replace the disk, then press any key
I know this particular worm has up to 32 plugin updates waiting on a news server for further instructions.
Is a master boot record corruption part of the Hybris worm history?
I am not really sure how to approach this problem because she has no software and the machine was upgraded from 95 to 98 by one of her neighbors. I downloaded Innoculate It! but I cannot access Windows 98 to install the updated virus definitions.
