Can anyone tell whether there has been a manufacturer that has come up with a hybrid motherboard? One, that has a 370-pin and the Athlon version on the same board!!:D :D

No, and it would be damn near impossible to manage also.
The entire bus structure it very different between S370 GTL+ bus protocol and the EV6 based Socket A Athlons.

It's definitely never going to happen.

Definitely won't happen, like Rand says. If they did figure out how to fit everything needed separately by each processor on one board, the board would be really big, and it would cost a lot. Pick one :)

not to mention such a board would by necessity have to be built on a an 8 layer PCB or larger, to separate the trace lengths from each pair of north and south bridges to the respective interfaces etc.

I don't even want to imagine the complexity or cost to make such a board and actually getting it to operate and function reliably etc....would be a nightmare
