First off I agree that you really shouldn't be trying to steal a girl from another guy.. after all, if you could steal her from him where would her loyalties lie with you? As far as convinving a girl to give you her hand.. I have no idea.. The last girl I was nice to, I dated for a year and a half, and toward the end, and for months after we broke up she walked all over me.. I'm still young so no matter what happens I'll always stick to being a nice guy to win a girl.

heres a story of a guy i know (me)

met friends sis, sis had crush on me around this time last year. I liked her without telling her, she kept on getting closer and closer to me. She also liked another guy at the time. we stayed friends until about time I stopped seeing my friend and her after december or january. Anyways around march I stop by and we go on a date and I get laid that night. She is now my Gf for 5 months. She still loves me and that other guy, our relationship is coming to an end soon. basically i dont love her because she still has feeling for that other guy. I don't understand how she can have feeling for two people.

Can you feel the insecurity here? I disagree wholeheartedly. If the relationship is true and good, no amount of trying will win her heart. On the other hand, if you are able to capture her attention, she's looking in the first place. If not you, then someone else. Go for it, and let the chips fall where they may. Good luck!
