If they allowed it for you, they'd have to allow it for everyone. Even if yours is ok, that doesn't mean everyones will be. This is something that has been decided against. They won't be chaning their minds and its definately a choice I support.

well yeah, not just for me. for everyone. when u upload ur avatar, can't they decide whether its fine or not, then it get posted. a lot of other pc forums use custom avatars no prob.

show me one where the moderators have 123384 members to look after (yes I realize that's the total count and not all are active but you get my drift.)

plus the reason that's been stated before is that this was meant to be a professional site's forum, and they wish to keep it that way.

having custom avatars does not detract from professionallism. andi guess having mickey mouse avatars like a cartoony lion, a snake, etc.. IS professional??

Those cartoon avatars all match. Boards with custom avatars tend to look a bit chaotic due to the huge variety in the avatar style.

The other big point is moderation. The mods have their hands full enough as is without having to moderate 100,000 avatars along with it.
