HWinfo a suspicious site?

I wanted to download the HWinfo64 program so I did a search. The first website was the HWinfo website so I clicked it and stated to install the program. All of a sudden, several attempts were made by the program to access the internet. I blocked them. My virus scanner alerted me as well. I manually uninstalled some of the programs that managed to get installed.

I am currently running a virus scan so we will see. I eventually did install HWinfo64 from Cnet but that HWinfo website looks fishy. Or maybe its something weird that just happened?

Run a second A/V / Anti-Malware scan to validate the first one.
If you are still in doubt wipe it.

I would never allow a web site to install anything. You must be using IE. If this were me I would scan the computer with a live boot CD such as Bitdefender.

You need a minimum of 1 GB of RAM.

Bleepingcomputer has a lot of resources. If you scan with apps, I would use Rkill first.
