Mr. Romney’s tax records have become a holy grail for Democratic opposition researchers who are hunting for evidence of anything peculiar or politically damaging in the Republican’s personal finances. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D, Nev.) has publicly accused Mr. Romney of paying no federal taxes in some years, based on a source who’s identity he hasn’t revealed.

Excuse me, but it was Republican primary candidates that made this an issue even before Obama entered into the picture.

Well, if the stolen documents are real, I'm sure the Romney campaign will outbid all other contenders. They obviously feel they have to, given their non-disclosure so far.

That's if they think they can trust extortionists. Their own experiences in the past might lead them to think differently, however.
