Photographic work, sure just load it with RAM and it's good to go. LAN gaming? Nope. Sure it would work, but it would be really expensive for the level of 3D performance and you probably won't be able to get the higher end video cards in it, plus if you want quiet, you aren't gonna go to LAN parties.

Even if your system is quiet, you'll sit next to "fan boy" with some 115CFM tri-blade Delta fans on one side, and the guy playing MP3 music on the other side blaring so loud through his headphones that you can hear exactly what crappy taste in music he has... or that he's already deaf. Of course you're gonna use headphones so any noise your PC makes, you won't hear anyways.
Quiet is great for when you're at home and don't have music playing and just want to concentrate on stuff.
Playing a game or rocking out to some MP3 music? As long as your computer isn't super noisy it should be fine.
