Husbands who do a lot of cooking, cleaning, laundry and other traditionally female forms of housework may do their marriages some good -- but, contrary to popular belief, they are not rewarded with more sex, a new study finds.

Instead, it's the guys who do the most lawn work, car repair, driving and bill-paying – traditional men's jobs – who have the most sex in marriage.

if married, Dont do women work! stick with gender-traditional chores

Don't a lot of women say that they "love a man who is willing to help with house chores" or some such nonsense? I guess our definition of love isn't the same.

I wouldn't put it past a woman to bitch at a man for not doing house chores, get sexually frustrated because she doesn't want to screw him anymore when he starts doing house chores, cheat on him with someone who would never do house chores because she's sexually frustrated, and then blame him for not arousing her enough.

Hard to believe....but certainly possible.

Most women that love their husband will actually be turned on and reward them if they are willing to take up some of their work at home. And most husbands SHOULD help out at home as well (even after a hard day of work, let's face it, most stay at home mothers have a MUCH harder day).

But we are talking decent women (world is certainly not filled with those....applies to man as well).

Personally, I sit on my ass all day at work and my wife has TONS of stuff to do at home. I just happen to get paid for what I do, she doesn't.

It's not fair.

But when i get home I help her out as much as possible, and she appreciates it. I also stress to her ( on regular basis) how important it is what she does and what it means to me and our family.

Her job = 10x harder than ANY job I have EVER done.

Heck JUST her being "stay at home mother" when my sons were infant + 4 and 5 year old....topples work 10 or 20 men do hehe. Yes it's THAT hard.

For whatever it's worth, not a day goes by that we don't' have sex or either of us doesn't take care of the other.

But we do have high sex drive.

Wait a minute... married guys still get laid? I must be doing something wrong :)

Chances are you BOTH are doing something wrong. If she can't or doesn't care enough to satisfy her loved one......you should know the rest.

Your post seemed too good to be true to begin with, but you went overboard with that sentence. Unless you meant you and somebody else's wife ;) !

And why would I lie?

I have a high sex drive and intimacy is an important part of my relationship (wife's as well).

What I said is true, my proof? 4 children.

Wife is currently working 50 hours a week and going to school. If I don't do the laundry... it's not getting done, ever.

If we go a week without doin' it, it's because she's at work by 6am and home at 9pm and asleep at 9:30. It has nothing to do with the type of chores I'm helping with...

Jesus

Sounds like you don't even have a wife, her life is consumed by her job.

6am - 9pm? My lord

Same here. Wife is a grad student, plus raising our two kids. Time is not on our side.

The study comes with one major caveat: It is based on data collected two decades ago. While the researchers say little has likely changed since then, some other experts disagree.

It's a good illustration of what could be causing these results to this study though. Basically if the man is doing the housework, it's likely that the woman is not doing it for some reason. Likely because she works, has to take care of the kids, at school etc...

At the end of the day, if both partners are very busy, it tends to create exhaustion and less motivation for sex. More likely, if she is tired, he is not getting laid regardless of what chores he completed...

Correct

I think this study is like any other study. We all know EVERY study has it's flaws.

My fiancee works for the big 4. They're all fvcking assholes. During the busy tax season she works from 8pm to 12am-1am. Then when it's REALLY busy, late as 3-4 AM. Yup, she did 3AM for like 3 weeks straight at one point.

And that's the god damn norm in the industry. She's miserable as fvck and want to bail asap.

I'm getting a very clear mental image here.

Those men in the study are doing housework because their wife has a job. Hence, she's the one coming home at night after a long day, not in the mood to deal with him. :hmm:

Lol

So now what's needed is a correlation/causation study. The men who do housework, do they get less sex because they're not seen as alpha males now and women just don't want it with them, or do they get less sex because housework is soul-crushing and these men simply don't want it anymore?

Maybe the men who do more housework are simply too tired to put out. Cleaning up sucks.
