Hurting the PCI slots?

I have an Epox 8kha+, with an AXP 2200+

I would like to reach 2ghz, but I heard that if I push my fsb too high, it will make the pci bus unstable. How is it that some people have ridiculous fsb speeds. Does a lower multiplier make the higher fsb more "palatable" for the pci slot?

Thanks

Yes some will run a lower multiplier and a higher FSB for extra overall performance(mainly memory). Also most of the KT333 or better chipset mobos support something called a 1/5 divider(or is it 5/1) which is if you can hit 166 FSB it auto resets the PCI and AGP to default speeds(33/66 I think) so thats basicly how they are doing it.

Of course you need PC2700 or better ram.

some people with 8kha+'s were hitting close to 200 fsb speeds (few) ..back when the board first came out.........there was a rumor there was a divider (1/5 ) on the board...........but....no....just a great board and o/c's like mad........yes the pci and agp specs do go out of stock range but if its not far ...you get the benifit of o/cing everything.....:D
