I was playing dodgeball a couple weeks ago and someone fell on my right hand. It swelled up pretty bad, and I thought I may have broken something. I waited a couple weeks hoping the swelling would go all the way down and the pain would stop. The pain did go down greatly, and teh swelling went down about 85%, but it's still a tad 'puffy' on the back of my hand, below where my pinky & ring finger meet. Anyway, I went to the doctor, she assumed I had broken bones, and sent me for xrays. They came back negative, surprising everyone. I was relieved, but noticed something yesterday...
try this:
curl your pink down til the tip is touching your palm. Your ring finger probably curled too. Now while keeping that pinky curled, straighten out your ring finger. You can probably do that fine. I can too, on my left hand. But on my right hand, I literally cannot move that ring finger, it's pinned where it is. Even my middle finger is slightly bent, and can't straighten all the way out...
Any ideas why this is? Does it indicate tendon damage??
