No offense but this isn't really a hot deal. It is already sold out and there are websites (google wii tracker) that provide this service.

I thought the Wii was relatively available at this point... Circuit City's website has them in stock right now.

No it's not. It's part of a $450 bundle.

That is so bizarre... That is also really deceptive. I'm surprised newegg did that. You can search for Wii, the console comes up for $250 then when you go to add it to cart it won't let you unless you buy all this other crap.

I love newegg but that is a really shady move. I call that bait and switch...

I've never seen that happen on newegg... maybe contact them and yell about it as it doesn't seem like something they would normally do.

Edit: it says exactly "Sorry, this gift item is part of a promotional special and cannot be manually added to your cart. If you'd like to receive the gift item, please add all required products to your shopping cart."

I just am so amazed that newegg did it.

I don't think so, just look at this forum ..there's as much discussion about Wii as there is about PS3 or XBOX360... and lots of kids had PS/PS2 and probably wouldn't mind to have both Wii and PS3...

No, I think they overlap. The same demographic (gamers) often wants both a traditional high-end graphics powerhouse (PS3 or Xbox 360) and also a unique, innovative gaming experience (Wii).

Do people still regularly play that system? lol

What system, the Wii? Yes, they do, it has outsold the other two systems on the market with ease as it interests a larger base of people.

Last I heard, most gamers chose either the PS3 or the Xbox. Most chose a Wii either as a 2nd system or only system. Again showing the power of it's multi-demographic appeal. Nintendo really hit a home run with that system delivering a casual gaming platform with innovative features.

I can't believe that this system is still unavailable (not that I would want one). But don't people sell them used? I guess the marketing monster at Nintendo is really in full swing. Oh well, I've seen at wall mart for 250, I think you can get them on ebay for pretty close to that as people are still thinking they can make a few bucks by hoarding and reselling.

Oh well... Supply and Demand.

Really?

I don't think the PS3 will get much more popular than it is now.

The PS3 will get older, video cards will get better. For those gamers that want the best visual experience, it's not a console that they will be after...
