This was a great deal a week ago, when they actually had some
stuff for sale. Now all that's left is stuff that even at blowout
prices no one wants...

Last week, I picked up a TON of stuff...Mostly little stuff like
deep sockets, hammers, light switches, etc...Shipping on
all hardware orders was (is?) a flat $5.99, so this is another
what-drugs-are-they-on? deal as far as I'm concerned. Especially
since they're shipping the stuff out piecemeal again...

Hey, it was posted in T*chbargains...which is where I learned
of it...I went IMMEDIATELY to the site and started ordering.
I learned that with these sales the only way you get a good deal
is to buy very quickly. Everything goes out of stock in minutes.
And it did. By the time I was finished ordering, it really wasn't
even worth mentioning here...Would have been like the first note
in this string...Basically old info to infuriate anyone who went
looking for something worthwhile...

A week ago? Where have you guys been? This is no sale - it's a department. Amazon added the clearance dept to their site in December. It'll still be there tomorrow and next year and so on. There are some good deals but much of the stuff is at regular pricing. Things like the $25 Skil jigsaw can be bought any day at Amazon for that price and are also available at Ace hardware, Home Depot and Lowes for the same $25 price. Many of the $0.48 trinkets are actually overpriced when compared to a local hardware store. Yes, there are some great bargains, but don't assume all the prices in that dept are great.
