hurricanes make car trunks open?

a short in the electrical system from the car being submerged in water might have something to do with it 😉
 
They sort of all look like the same model of car. Which could be why they all had the same response to the water? May'be a dealership or something.
 
It is hard to see, but if you look closely the two cars closest to the camera do have the trunks open, just not all the way up like the other four, maybe the wind is blowing right to left and is pushing the trunks in the same direction, the reason they opened in the first place is probably from the water short circuiting the trunk release.
