Hurricane Wilma Thread

Just what we all need right now.

Its currently a tropical depression west of Jamaica, but NHC has been forecasting this to become a significant hurricane for the last 3 advisories now. Text

THE GLOBAL MODELS MAINTAIN THE CURRENT DUAL OUTFLOW CHANNEL PATTERN FOR THE
NEXT 5 DAYS... AND DECREASE THE VERTICAL SHEAR TO LESS THAN 5 KT AFTER 48
HOURS. SUCH AN ENVIRONMENTAL PATTERN IS USUALLY FAVORABLE FOR RAPID
INTENSIFICATION TO OCCUR AND FOR TROPICAL CYCLONES TO BECOME MAJOR
HURRICANES.
Official forecast track

This is the last name in the registry, if any tropical development happens after this it will go to greek leters for designations...
Thankfuly Hurricane season is over in a few weeks.

Oh, so it's still nothing but a TD, but it *may* become a hurricane? I guess oil will only go up $5 or so a barrel tomorrow then...

Yee haw - looks like I need to ge that renter's insurance taken care of. I predict it will hit Sarasota/Naples if it hits this coast at all.

The 5-day forecast is putting it inline with LA and AL, with the possibility of TX to FL.
The 5 day forcast is clueless, the models aren't even close to a consensus on where it's going to go. Everyone in the gulf should be watching this, it could go anywhere.

PSTFU with your little hurricane updates. If anyone is concerned they can turn on the Weather Channel.

The 5pm update just came in, winds are at 80mph, and she's still expected to make a run for major status, perhaps peaking at Cat 4. Florida isn't going to like this one...

PS Carbo, overruled

8pm update: Wilma has reached Super Saiyan 2 and is well on the way to hitting 3, and all of this is just since the 5pm update.

Florida had better be prepating for one hell of a Kamehameha...
