[Rant]It really does take the p!ss, how long is it since the first hurricane thread was posted about Hurrican Isabel? A week? maybe 2 weeks?When did the information first hit the UK....today!!! [/Rant]

Well, it takes quite a while for the ships to carry correspondence to and from the UK and the States. Clippers can only go so fast.

I am just interested, its on fox news on sky but it amazes me that the BBC only deem it good information to tell us when its about to make landfall and even then its only with maybe 20 secs

It's the same in the other direction. We never get weather news about other countries unless it's a 10-second bit about some typhoon that killed zillions, or all the dead elderly in the Paris heat.

This one only hit the UK news because it's going to impact Washington DC.
