This would be a good time to commit fraud. I can just imagine these scenarios:
-"Sorry, IRS, those records were destroyed by Katrina . . . "
-"My wife disappeared during the storm--she must have gotten swept away . . . "
-"Pre-existing? No way--the storm caused it," and so on.

you think there are hardware stores left unattended?
I mean this could be a good time to get the 7800GTX you always wanted...
ah... but seriously, I feel for these people, I hope it won't be too bad in the end.

It's now 10:50 (ET) so the main storm (eye-wall)is still about an hour and fifteen minutes from contact with the central city.
Then comes the eye - a temporary calm.
The biggest threat may be still to come . . that time when the storm is exiting, and the winds associated with the eye-wall
change direction, and blow Lake Pontchartrain to the south, and over the retainer dykes
and continue to flood the basin.
That won't happen until after Noon - 1:00 PM local time.
Ah, good ol' looting--I forgot! (Funny when you said 'hardware stores,' I thought you meant Lowes or Home Depot)Originally posted by: DrCrap

Yeah, but I don't think that's the kind of "water cooling" you really want on the 7800 card 🙂
