If Gulfport has that much water, I feel sorry for the people who thought they were going to ride it out in lower elevations where they got more of a storm surge...

New Orleans shouldn't get that sort of surge, Mississippi Gulf Coast is going to take the brunt of it. Slidell isn't going to fare well though.

considering the strongest parts of the storm have yet to hit the Superdome, I'd say that is scary...

the idiot on Fox... (Steve?)
"there's debris flying in the air, it's really scary now..."
suddenly, "Ahhhhh!" as he puts his hand on the side of the head where he just got smacked.
Anything to become famous as a weather reporter...

News here is saying that it should become "not as bad" for NO throughout the rest of the day. Lots of wind and rain here at BR. "Could've been much worse," apparently, so at least we're fortunate in that respect.

lmao at this guy on fox... "whoooooooaaaaaa" as the wind is sliding him along the ground.

Hey, if anyone at Fox is reading these forums, tell that idiot to get inside!

from one of the Foxnews.com articles:
"I'm not doing too good right now," Chris Robinson said via cellphone from his home east of the city's downtown. "The water's rising pretty fast. I got a hammer and an ax and a crowbar, but I'm holding off on breaking through the roof until the last minute. Tell someone to come get me please. I want to live."

Watching WDSU - and there are unconfirmed reports of 7 feet of water in some NO hospital, and reports of the breaching of dykes.....
