you thought the redskins and eagles sucked in regular weather ... man oh man, wait until you see the game they have to play during the hurricane this weekend.

(unless it gets postponed)

Locals are worried about the heavy rain possibility, we just had 2 days of heavy rain locally.

Some small streams are overflowing, one local road is blocked do to a bridge being washed out. Those folks are either trapped at their homes, Or they can not get home. :(

Maybe it'll work in our favor by altering would-be interceptions into perfect passes. :D

it's going to be a game dominated by running.

and if you aren't familiar with fedex field, people are going to be slipping and falling all over the place. it' got to be the worst field in the nfl.

imagine the traffic on 495 for this game too. it's already TERRIBLE going to a game, and it's going to be in a hurricane. although, that will probably keep most people out of there, even though it would have felt like an eagles home game anyways.

They are freaking out around these parts.

Yes, yes they are. A bit of residual scarring from Sandy. But weather reports are such a mixed bag right now. Yes, it'll rain, but if it misses us, it's not a lot of rain. But apparently if it hits, it's the apocalypse. Nice range on that forecast...

sounds like it may hit NJ but be reduced to a tropical storm by the time it gets here.

I'm leaving Jersey early Sunday morning for a planned trip to Cape Cod and Maine, so hopefully that'll put me out of the line of anything other than a rainy vacation.

the big worry in my area isn't hurricane-force winds or anything, but flooding from the rain... I don't live inside a flood zone, but I could see commuting being a bitch.

Hmm... maybe I should get that generator that I've been holding off on buying.

That reminds me, I need to get mine out and fire it up. I added Stabil to the gas over last winter (and drained the carb off before putting it away), but I should fill up my can as well in case we would lose power for an extended time (more than 1 day). Bought it for hurricane Sandy and we never needed it, but a genny is always handy to have around.

If this fucking thing comes up the Chesapeake and smashes the northeast again I'm moving to Colorado. We were without power for 12 days after Sandy.

I hope it lands right on the Eccles building. That is right in the center of its track.

nobody seems to know where it is really going . Most Gulf storms track north west . This one hopefully blows out into the Atlantic , and does not make land fall .

Hmm, supposed to be driving out to Ocean City, MD tomorrow through the weekend. What's life without a little adventure?

Good discussion at about the 7 minute mark - what it could do, and how sensitive it is to minor track changes in the near future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZrztUP2bJo

It might nail the Carolinas, it might blast NJ, or it might miss altogether. Depends on its exact track over the next 12 or so hours, and how it's caught up in the trough running up the coast.

Sounds like the range on every other forecast.

They barricaded Long Beach and were talking about evacuations last night on the news. The same place that got smashed by Sandy......
