I witnessed the aftermath of Andrew. Forests of pine trees, at a 45 degree angle looking like tooth picks stuck in the ground. Metal I beam signs, not bent over from the face of the sign, but shaped like an S from the thin side.

How the fuck this Oklahoma guy figure he's gonna get drought relief?
I was watching hurricane Andrew's radar on tv and they were saying that it would lose a bit of strength before landfall. You clearly see the thing growing larger and gaining strength as it hit the shallow warmer water just off the coast. I feel sorry for those that trusted the forecast instead of trusting their eyes. Always be prepared for the worst in Fl.

How odd it is to give a socialist handout to a lot of folks who were taught to despise socialism. I wonder how they manage to walk around that awkward happenstance while trying to ignore the assistance the federal socialist gov't is handing to them. I guess ain't no such thing as "socialism" if they're the ones who somehow "rightly deserved to get what's owed to 'um anyway" eh?

Watching the morning ... uh ... press conference(?) from the state of FL and all the various speakers from emergency agencies etc. all paying tribute to gov. DeathSantis is very reminiscent of that cabinet meeting where it was all about licking Trump's balls. Very little substance or info, just lots of "thank you for being our governor" or similar.

That was probably staged for Fox & Friends.

I must say that I no longer live in fear of a sharpie tracking chart modification.... :p
And a caring commander in chief than just said in press conference, he’s been in long talks with DeSantis and he promises all resources needed. Unlike the petulant orange baby would hold a grudge against a D governor and make excuses to avoid providing assistance.

Why hasn't Florida built a sandbag wall on their coast or nuked the hurricane? Why do they just expect the federal government to fix everything? Sheesh people.

In fact, Ian is landfalling Port Charlotte and Fort Myers now. That area has / is feeling the full force of the Hurricane.

I've got a cousin in Tampa. I just found out she and her family didn't evacuate. She's been stubborn ever since we were kids.
