Hurricane/Apocolypse protection/preperation

After reading an article on /., I've been thinking about putting together a preperation package for the end of days which I'm almost convinced is coming very soon. This is what I have so far...

lots of canned food
100 gallons of water ( in 6 gallon containers )
lots of those alcohol based cleaning solutions (like purell)
hand cranked and solar powered flash lights
hand cranked am/fm radio


now what i was thinking is that a two way radio would be what i'd want... however does anyone know of a hand cranked or portable two way radio?

anyone think of nething else?

Once I have a generator and a decent stockpile of gasoline (with stabil), I'll be pretty much set for a long time.
Water = well. Without power, I'd have to pull the pump and pull it up a cup or two at a time. Flushing the toilet would be a pita, but do-able.
But... I'll be able to flush the toilet, while most of you will have to let it sit in the tank

Not a gun owner, I am pretty much a pacifist unless I need to defend myself, but I am starting to think people have the right idea. I might get a gun and a license to carry.

I got stuck in a bad area of Houston in the middle of the night when my car broke down. Incidently, I was returning a part to the only 24 hour Auto Zone in the area. Was approached by two guys who wanted me to get out of the car because they wanted to "talk" within the first 15 minutes of breaking down. They only backed off when I feigned a movement to my glove box (pretended I had a gun). The area was also filled with prostitutes. Cars would pass my car and then slow down and I would see people looking at the car to see if it was empty. I can take care of myself, but that time I was pretty freaked out. Found out later from the tow truck that that was the worst area around that zipcode, and that tow truck drivers are even scared to stay in that area for too long.

Generator, a lot of solar panels, Deisel car (since they can run off vegatble oil), a mechanism with which to distill alcohol (for sanitation as well as consumption), a satalite phone (the satelite shouldn't be disrupted by a hurrican, although service might be), a HAM radio,

and of coure my Bible, id be lost w/o it....
